When I first moved to Los Angeles my goal was to become a famous film composer like John Williams, or Danny Elfman. So, when I first got here I contacted everyone I could about doing a score for their movie. I don’t even remember how I met Tim Ardivani, but he was a young aspiring film director, and needed some music for this short film he made called “The Idiot’s Of Malibu”. It was basically a short film, that consisted of 2 guys walking along the beach analyzing and sharing their ‘profound’ wisdom about women. It was a cute, funny, little movie.

I wrote the main theme using a playful, childlike melody to encapsulate the nature of the 2 main characters, while using bongos and other Latin percussion instruments to give it a beach feeling. Once I got the main theme ironed out, the rest just kind of wrote it’s self, and I’m very happy with it.
